Here are just a few of the comments of previous personal workshop clients: "What is immediately evident when you spend any time with Richard is his passion and energy. We asked a million questions and he answered each one slowly with patience and extreme clarity. But what we were most impressed with was that he asked just as many questions of us as we did of him. You see, he was trying to learn as much about us and our abilities as possible so that he could connect and make a break-through. He definitely did!" Jean and Robert Barnes - Savannah, Georgia (South Carolina Coast, Winter 2006) "Richard's reputation as an instructor and teacher were becoming legendary in these parts so I had to see and experience it myself. I had more of those 'Ah ha' moments during that day than in several years of reading photography books. As much as he understands all of the technical aspects, he also has a tremendous imagination, which he uses to help teach sometimes-complicated concepts. It was time and money well spent." Alfred Kaminski - Asheville, North Carolina (Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Spring 2007) "Richard's personal photography workshop was an exceptional experience. Richard's expertise goes far beyond the camera, the software, and the terrain. Richard differentiates himself from other instructors by teaching how to convey your feelings in your images. This is where Richard raises the bar, because he takes you beyond the level of making pretty pictures. My results improved dramatically after a few days with Richard." Lance Warley - Boca Raton, Florida (Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Autumn 2007) "Richard is more than just another good photographer. He is like a magician with the camera and some of that rubs off when he works with you. He has personally made a big difference with my photography and vision and I've already booked another session this coming year." Cal Rhymer - Cleveland, Tennessee (Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Spring 2008) I was fortunate to select Richard as a guide for my first trip to the Smoky Mountains National Park. Richard is a consummate professional; his intimacy with the area and passion for photography made the wonderful locations he shared that much more beautiful. I look forward to using Richard on my future trips to the Southeast." Ed Cooley - Rogers, Arkansas (Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Spring 2008 and Blue Ridge Parkway, Autumn 2008) I'd like to thank Richard for the time he took to explain everything in a way that even a beginner like me could understand. I would recommend this one-on-one type of study to anyone interested in making images of sunrise, sunset or nature in general." Mike Scott - Camden, South Carolina (South Carolina Coast, Winter 2009) "I flew 2,005 miles from Los Angeles, California to Knoxville, Tennessee, just to take one-on-one photography lessons from Richard Bernabe. As an instructor, Richard is a total pro---articulate, patient, understanding---and he is willing to help you hone your camera skills from where you are, to where your potential lies. In just two days of on-the-field learning, I gained so much more knowledge and hands-on experience using my CANON SLR than I ever did in any workshop or group lessons. Not only did Richard present me with new knowledge about how to use my camera, he also assessed my abilities to apply that new knowledge while we were photographing flora and fauna in the Great Smoky Mountains. His stamina and professional eye for finding the 'right shot' were impressive, and certainly allowed me to compose some lovely photographs. I will definitely sign up for more lessons with Richard in the future!" Deborah Y. Chew, Lomita, California (Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Spring 2009) |
