Charleston, South Carolina Workshop 2018 (SOLD OUT)

March 23 – 26, 2018 | $745

Schedule

Friday Night: Day One. Meet at 5:00 pm in the hotel lobby for dinner.

6:30 – 9:30 pm: Meeting in hotel conference room where Richard will give an exciting visual presentation on composition, light, and exposure for digital cameras, featuring his images from all over the world.

Saturday: Day Two. Field work all day, from sunrise to sunset. Locations include Botany Bay, Hunting Island, the Ace Basin, local plantations and ruins, and more. Exact locations will depend on the weather.

Sunday: Day Three. Sunrise shoot and morning field session. Image critiques.

Come explore South Carolina’s wild beaches, maritime forests, live oak groves, and historic plantations during the peak azalea bloom with acclaimed nature, wildlife, and travel photographer, Richard Bernabe. Richard will take you to some of his favorite photo places in and around Charleston during the most favorable light and conditions. He will help you create images both technically and creatively, making you a better photographer and artist.

We resist publishing a detailed workshop itinerary since the weather and light conditions can vary greatly from day to day and even hour to hour. The greatest amount of flexibility is needed in order to ensure you are in the best locations at the best times. Richard’s knowledge of the area is extensive and he will use that knowledge to maximize quality shooting time.

Participants are responsible for their own transportation, lodging, and all meals during the workshop. Transportation will be arranged via carpool between the hotel and the shooting locations.

We have a block of rooms reserved with a group rate at a local hotel. After registration is completed, you will be prompted to download a PDF that includes the hotel information, as well as a gear list and photo recommendations. You should then call the hotel directly and reference the Richard Bernabe workshop to secure your lodging. You are welcome to stay anywhere you like during the workshop, but the recommended hotel will be the most convenient since it will also be our meeting place each day.

I learned more about seeing creatively on this one trip than the ten previous workshops I took combined. I also just love Charleston.

Walking the beach at dawn with a group of like-minded photography students and a great photography teacher was an incredible experience that I won’t soon forget.
